IMHO...

Like you said...the same happens to all types of music.

It drives me nuts when I hear the same crap salsa's at clubs. But I wouldn't put the blame on the DJ's. It's the crowd that has to be educated and know the trends to be current with the music. The DJ just spins what gets a reaction from the crowd. You follow reggaeton like I follow salsa. But most people are just casual listeners. So they only like songs that are familiar to them...and those mostly being songs that bring bad some type of memory or emotion. New tracks don't have the same effect on people.

For example....The casual salsa listener between 22-30 (more or less) will tell you the Jerry Rivera is a wicked salsero. Why?!?!? Because most of them were between 13-16 when he was "in" and they were making out and experimenting with his music....Even though he hasn't come out with anything good in about 10 years...and the merrit of calling him a salsero is highly questionable.

Anyway....Same type of thing with reggaeton.

So....give it another 5 years before the good stuff now ends up at clubs....LOL

Wow. Poor U guys in T.O.   ......I wonder if those dj's are too 'chicken' to put recent reggaeton track. I wonder what is so scary about putting new tracks.

I'm glad that Montreal latin DJ's are'nt scare to put up hot new reggaeton tracks....it creates a lively ambiante and people are not bored by old track all the time...

That why I love so much these latin clubs:Club 737, club El Vacilon, club Punta Cana, el Tesoro Beach Club.

Why dont u guys ever play up to date reggaeton sets? ..jus curious..ive heard a mix of reasons....ur affraid that the crowds here wont react and dance to new tracks...or that the crowd prefers classic old songs..in other words you would rather put a played out song that u know the crowd will dance too..instead of risking it and putting a new single..if u do then the crowd may or may not even dance and walk away from the floor?

Actually I had the same questions. Everytime I go to a spanish club they always put the same old songs . even though there are tons of new songs out there..

it was clearly stated idea
ill try to make it shorter ...lol

why do latino djs always put old reggaeton sets..songs that r lik 2 years old?
is it cause they have no new music or do they prefer old tracks because they know the crowd will still dance to it?
