What? Really? Looks so real. And I suppose the artist couldn't give those two men in the bottom right hand corner some hair. Jerk!

Jerk indeed! and their bald shiny head is even on the website. Must be 'real world' models. shrug.gif

Take a look at the site.

MJ---that is a nice shot. But i believe it's also a rendering.

So... it's been... what, like a year that I've had this signature? Did anyone get that it says: I hear, I see, I learn? :(

That photo looks surreal. Awesome.

Ok, I'm bored with my own foro comments.

Oh wow! There's a spell check now? Woohoo! smile.gif

Are you crazy?  You should've seen the line up for this joint!!!  omg.gif

I had my first job there and went many many MANY times (every Saturday ashamed.gif) so I'll always love the old section.

The new part looks gorgeous but odd.  Kind of like a big crystal lego was just glued onto the side.  idea.gif  Like the ROM itself is a Transformer!!!!!

I'll check it out when the crowd dies down.

I like, but for them to try and merge the old with the new...i don't see how. But the abstract part of it is beautiful.

DID ANYONE GO TO THE CONCERT THEY HAD THERE ON SATURDAY NIGHT?

Thousands Turn Out For Glimpse Of New ROM & Crystal

Saturday June 2, 2007

The
RoyalOntarioMuseum is one Toronto's most revered cultural institutions, and as of Saturday the $270 million improvements that were six years in the making were on display to thousands of enthusiasts, all of whom were willing to wait in line for hours just for a quick glimpse. The main attraction was the massive crystal extension from the building, named after Burlington philanthropist Michael Lee-Chin, who donated $30 million to the project, which he dedicated to his mother, a Jamaican orphan.

"This is where leaders of tomorrow will get their first taste of inspiration," Lee-Chin said Saturday.

The building began as a sketch on a napkin in 2001, and six years later the opening of the new and improved ROM kicked off with a free concert at Bloor and Avenue Road Saturday night, and a list of artists including Natalie MacMaster and Deborah Cox heating up the already simmering downtown air.

The new crystal addition features an exhibition hall and seven new galleries, though only two have exhibits so far. The rest should have installations by 2009.

The celebration coincided with the Luminato Festival, which began Friday night and runs until June 10. The multiple celebrations had Bloor St. closed at Avenue Road while the ROM stayed open all through the night Saturday and wrapped up around 6pm Sunday.
