@X your right they are natural protectors! however take my dog his history goes back years his breed was used to fight against bears they were a danagerous animal so ppl said! but you can come over and orale jr is the happiest around he hides from kids and thinks that everyone is his toy! however i have read that his type has attacked ppl before so now does that mean my dog will?? Probably not so why condem the entire breed for what some dogs who have been trained to fight will do?? thats what i meant! Like u said urs is crazy over kids or they make him crazy but the next dog might not even care that there are kids around! same breed different charateristics that just what im trying to say is that not all pits are dangerous like the news makes them all out to be!
true but pitbulls just seem to be the once that always attack people or other dogs......I have seen them first hand and reason i don't really like to go to dog parks.......

Yeah, you're right but they have a whole lot of little dogs in THS that aren't on the website. The problem is a lot of people want puppies or small dogs so they are easily adopted. They have to advertise the older/bigger so-called "dangerous" dogs.
I'm actually surprised to see german sheppards and labs up there. I love those dogs!!! I saw a beautiful husky last night too!!!
Anyway, everyone get a doggie!!! They protect you from bulls and stuff.
PS - I HATED that video. The dog and the bull should've attacked everyone. Stupid people!!! Plus I don't really think it was being protective alone, so to speak, I think he was just being a dog!!! My mom's shi-poo barks at freakin' cows and horses for God's sake!!! He'd take em on too if we didn't hold him back.

main reason i wouldn't let princessa get a dog.....the only reason she wants one is to carry it in her purse
i guess the pitbulls where the same, people just got them because they thought it was cool to walk around with a dog that would push them around......till they realized they had to take care of it.

not sure about that Genie, my dog has never been trained to attack, I mean all we give him is love but when little kids run around he goes crazy and is only with kids, every one else is good not sure what it is.
Dogs are just the best when it comes to protecting some1 they love, I seen a video where a dog takes on a bull to save his owner, I'll see if i can find it.

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) - A plucky foot-high Jack Russell terrier named George saved five New Zealand children from two marauding pitbulls, but was so severely mauled in the fight he had to be destroyed, his owner said Wednesday.
George was playing with the group of children as they returned home from buying sweets at a neighborhood shop in the small North Island town of Manaia last Sunday when the two pitbulls appeared and lunged toward them, his owner Allan Gay said.
"George was brave - he took them on and he's not even a foot high," Gay told The Associated Press. "He jumped in on them, he tried to keep them off.
"If it wasn't for George, those kids would have copped it."
One of the children, Richard Rosewarne, 11, was quoted in the Taranaki Daily News on Wednesday as saying George fought with the pitbulls to keep them off his four-year-old brother, Darryl.
"George tried to protect us by barking and rushing at them, but they started to bite him - one on the head and the other on the back," Rosewarne said. "We ran off crying and some people saw what was happening and rescued George."
But George, aged 9, was so badly mauled that a veterinarian had to put him down, Gay said.
"The two pitbulls ripped the skin from his throat and chest and down his back," he said, adding the tough little terrier also "had a bad heart condition."
Gay said the pitbulls' owner had surrendered the pair to dog control officers, and demanded they be destroyed, claiming they had launched unprovoked attacks previously.
South Taranaki District Council official Graham Young said the two dogs had been impounded, and likely would be destroyed because of the attack.
In New Zealand, owners of dogs judged to be too aggressive can be required to have them neutered and dogs involved in attacks are destroyed.
