yes they are very territorial!  and stubborn...sometimes its funny how stubborn they can be...LOL...then again..it all depends usually on how you raise them, but Chows, based on my experience with this dog, are very loyal and obedient...I luv him! He's my buddy! Great companion!

Well..they're shedding occurs in the spring because it needs to release all its excess fur before the summer...and in the fall they start to grow back the thicker coat in time for winter. This time of year drives me crazy with my dog.  Hair everywhere! I have to brush him like 20mins everyday to keep him well groomed! This particuliar breed is high maintenance!

@Angelita...if you get this kind of dog...expect the worst shedding during the months of March through June...but they are great companions...very loyal and very intelligent!

Really?! Why is that? I'd figure it would be more shedding during the summer time.
Those dogs are just sooo cute! They look like a big Teddy bear!!

MJ...I have pet insurance for my dog. I got it as soon as i bought him. The way my insurance works is that I get refunded for all vet visits. Not everything but like 85%...which is still good. In case of death, the insurance company refunds me the money I paid for my dog.

I have already used 1 major claim for him when he was only 2 years old...he was diagnosed with hip dysplacia and needed surgery. If it werent for that insurance I would have had to dish out $4000.00.

I strongly recommend it...the $40 or $50 bucks you spend a month is far worth the security to know that if anything happens to your pet...you're covered...it is costly though but I'm glad i got it.

Wow! From what I see, dogs are more expensive than cats so that's good for me! thumbsup.gif Thanks for the information Mega! It was very helpful! worship.gif

Something tells me, I'm gonna have to use it soon. cry.gif

No sir.

I SAW my kitty drinking water like a maniac.
I HEARD my kitty yacking up a storm and then
I SMELLED his stinky a$$ in the litter box. hmm.gif

@ MJ, Hope it isn't related to the pet food scare.

Anyway, I just had to post a pic of Mega's huge friendly furry beast of a dog.

WOW - Insurance cost can range from $35.25 to $91.95 per month.
I think I better insure a family member and have a couple of Corona's instead!

Yeah, vets can be costly; but ... nahhhhh.

Anyone have it?

I'm wondering if I should get it or would it be a waste of money? I'm thinking since my little one's turning 10 next month, I should look in to it since as they get older, they tend to get more sick. No? confuse.gif

I don't have any insurance on any of my pets - I never considered / thought about it.  How much would it be and what would it cover? Any deductibles should it need a vet. visit/medical treatment?
