I went to Club Menage back in December and they have those machines! It didnt bother me at all!!

So for those of you going to Club Menage this friday for the opening of Sabornuevo's new nights, they will do that and if you don't like it then don't go!! But i don't think there's any harm to that!!

No, sorry but I don't feel that comfortable handing over my personal information to a Door Monkey... I don't know how they are gonna use my personal information, how safe is it, where ends up.... I think it's an easy target for identity theft....Like reaaaalllly easy

wow... we live in a very trusting society... so if someone asks u for your card, you just hand it over, allow them to swipe and be on your merry way? that's doesn't seem right to me... regardless of whether this is protocol or not, I would not feel comfortable with it. Identity theft is on the rise and any sort of information these card readers can provide to any club is already too much information... I don't want to go to a club THAT bad...

Same here,..... it's my personal information....and not willing to share it.

I went to this club called Boulevard and they asked for my ID... I was so stoned that when the guy swaped it I thought it was Interpol or the FBI or something like that, so I freaked out...

Then muh friend told me is to verify that the ID is not fake, since the new fake IDs that the kids are getting are identical to the real DLs.

I notice some clubs are requiring patrons to give up their drivers licenses for a swipe thru a card reader, are you aware of the information they can get ??

Personally I wouldn't allow them to do it...

YEP they do it as a way to catch fake ids! And find out ur real age! they cant get any info from those machines just ur date of birth your name! trust me i have worked at a club that wanted to use those but the machines cost way to much money!!! and after investigating it there not that harmful they do however use it as a database info to see the age demographics!

I was told that it's for marketing purposes to gather info. as to how old the average person is and to mail out flyers or whatever.    I have yet to receive anything.  I think it's just to verify whether the ID itself is real or not.

Haven't come accross that yet, and I wouldn't let them swipe it either.
