Google has been working on their own version of this idea for a while but not released it yet called "GDrive" code name platypus.

They released the commercial version it's really good but deadly slow, all the images are managed by a DB so your hard drive go Nuts.

I use the other one but i have not use the gmail add on,

I just finish installing.

FireFtp - ftp client that works within the browser but has all the functionality of a standalone. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/684/

i haven't tried any addons but i do use firefox, maybe I'll give them a try.
