I liked the award they gave to that woman, Sherry Lansing, the humanitarian award. I guess there are people in Hollywood who actually care. She left her high-paying executive position to dedicate her time fully to her non-profit organization. Very nice speech too.

I really liked the Oscars this time. It was glamorous, subdued, nice and the speeches were touching. I cried a couple of times (I know, what a loser... )

As for the fashion, I thought Gwyneth, J.Lo and Reese looked stunning, and so did Nicole, Jodi Foster and Helen Mirren. I didn't like Jessica Biel. She didn't look pretty, I thought. Like I said, Ben looked hot, and so did Leo.

Her dress sucked!!   It looked like a whole bunch of fabric left over from the 80's tied up with some crappy belt!!

I thought Nicole Kidman looked AMAZING and Helen Mirren was just ALL CLASS!!!  Absolutely beautiful.  I love whoever did Jennifer Hudson's eye make-up!!!

I absolutely adored Will Smith's son!!!  That kid is 100% his father!!!

My favorite couple last night though was Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.  They looked stunning last night and the way she looked............wow, I was just awestruck!!!

I love how she doesn't have a bazillion dollars worth of jewellery on her and how she kept everything simple.  The colour and style of the dress is just incredible!!!

I liked that part too, quite touching.

I'm glad they honoured Ennio Thingamajiggy, he deserved it as well.

Hey... I couldn't claim a name like HollywoodLuna and not watch the Oscars.  I watched the pre-show, the red carpet, some of the Barbara Walters thingy and the actual show.  Overall it was OK!  As usual, too long and quite boring at times.  Ellen played it too safe I found.  She was funny tho, had me chuckling.  The all time best Oscar host is Billy Crystal, HANDS DOWN.

But I digress.  No real BIG surprises except for Alan Arkin winning for Best Supporting Actor.  I watched Little Miss Sunshine and yes he was good  but not "OSCAR" good.  I think the black guy from Blood Diamond (I forgot his name) should have won.  He acted his heart out in that movie.  I can't comment on Eddie Murphy 'cause I haven't seen DreamGirls

I like seeing Beyonce tear up a bit when Jennifer Hudson was saying her acceptance speech but I'm sure that it was killing her inside.    Humble-pie, honey, humble-pie.

Scorcese's win was one of those "Ok, we should have given this to you years ago" wins.  I haven't seen the Departed, I hear its amazing but like MiMs said, its a REMAKE of another film, so it kinda leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

The dresses were really nice.  No one really stuck out for me but I really did like Reese Witherspoons dress.  Didn't like Anne Hathaways', Beyonce's and I'm REALLY happy Jennifer Hudson took off that ugly silver shrug she had on when she was walking down the red carpet.

oh and by far im so glad Forest Whitaker won!! I think that he did an amazing job in The no se ke king of scotland! I seen the movie and only cuz of him and wow what a great actor, even though deeep inside i wanted will smith to win im glad he took it!

I also wanted the African gentleman(beingpoliticallycorrect) to win for supporting actor! If you ahvent seen Blood Diamond you should and you will never buy another diamond from africa again!

OH and for Chile - Gael Garcia looked smoken hot!! Unlike Diego who forgot to shave!! llolollol

Oh and i hate that Cars didnt win best animated i love "Mater" the old beat up tow truck!

Oh and as for fashion i loved what Nicole Kiddman wore very bold! Jennifer Hudson looked so good in her Chocolate dress (hated the redone she performed in) also Beyonce wore a very classy white dress and Resse looked beautiful! I hated what Cameron diaz wore and worst would have to be Kirsten Dunst!

ok im done

I'm happy for the mexican guy, Pan's laberynth is an amazing movie, a masterpiece, it won best cinematography and a couple of other oscars. I wanted to watch this movie ever since I heard that it got like a twenty minute standing ovation by the critics at the Cannes film festival. If you haven't seen it, they are still playing it at some theaters. I highly recommend it!

It was an ok show. Nothing really special and as always a bit too long
Highlight of the night was watching Jennifer Hudson winning best supporting actress, and thinking to myself how mad Beyonce must have been deep down inside

And don't get me started on Scorsese COPYING a Hong Kong film and then winning awards for it!!!

Sh*t the original (Infernal Affairs) is less than 5 years old!!!!

Meh, i didn't watch even half of it. I think i hit my cozy pillows right after the Supporting actor award.

Did the departed deserve the award? yes i think it did. It's a really good movie.
I will make it my duty to watch all of the rest that were nominated.

Me!!! And now I'm in dire need of more coffee...

Overall, I really liked the show. Latinos kicked major butt last night. Was really happy to see all the messicans winning Oscars (and the argentinian). Loooooved to see Jennifer Hudson win, but was disappointed that Eddie Murphy didn't win. Ellen was great.

Anyway, gotta go get some more coffee...
