Just wondering..How much you paid for it ?
Just a tip dude, the Mac has a different gamma setting than PC's which makes for much darker photos when viewing Mac colour corrected images on a PC. It's a pain to have to redo an entire website full of images when it all turns out darker than you want. However, in terms of printing, either photographic or traditional, your photos will be pretty close to what you see on a Mac.
And another tip: Use the button that reads ON/OFF to turn your brand spanking (not-so) new Mac computer on or off. To turn it on you press the ON button. For offing it, you press OFF.

I calibrated my monitor for my printer ....do you have to do the same with a Mcc ?

Sorry, it's the Intel Core 2 Duo. I didn't notice the 2.

I bought a 2Ghz Intel Duo Core with 1Gb RAM, 80Gb HDD. It's the second one here. It's listed at $1449, but I got mine from the refurbished section of the apple store. It was $1219, and it comes with a 1 year warranty. I ordered it last wednesday, and I got it on friday. Free shipping.

1. Performance: This is a big one for me, as I bought it for audio recording and editing. This friggin laptop takes a lot less than a minute to startup, and like 4 seconds to shut down.
****Very very true! while pc is still logging off network and closing all my settings, my mac is already on REM sleep!
I am yet to face a "frozen screen", even if it is for a few seconds. and the graphics are really, really smooth.
****You will experience farts here and there, i get frozen screens, but the awsome part is that you can FORCE QUIT the mofo program giving you the hard time in half the time! and i love working with force.
2. Software: All included software is fun to use and play around with...actually that's a better word. Everytime I open a new application, i feel like it's a game. It comes with GarageBand (to make music), iMovie (to edit videos), the picture applications: Photobooth where you can take pics with the built-in webcam, and iPhoto to edit them. Quicktime, iTunes...etc. The whole system is geared towards a different kind of use.
****Not only that, but it's easy to get rid of programs you don't want anymore, just drag and drop.
3. Hardware: This laptiop comes with a lot of built-in hardware, it has USB, ethernet, firewire, DVI ports, it comes with a DVD-RW drive, and integrated wireless. the trackpad is awesome too, it comes with a neat scroll function. the buttons on the keyboard are great too, and the overall design is pretty kickass.
I think what makes them better (for some people), is that they are more entertainment/creative oriented, rather than work oriented. The TV commercials do a great job in portraying macs and pcs in my opinion. If you were thinking on getting one, I highly recommend it, and you are more than welcome to come by and check it out.

What's so great/different about Macs? Please esplain. Be specific Tenks
the main differences I have seen in the few days that I've had it are probably distributed in three main categories: 1. Performance: This is a big one for me, as I bought it for audio recording and editing. This friggin laptop takes a lot less than a minute to startup, and like 4 seconds to shut down. Now at work with my Pc everything seems so dull and lifeless....
whatever....it's pretty cool actually.
So I thought I'd let you all know that from now on I am going to be a Mac Snob. So reply to this thread from your Neanderthalic PCs using Bill Gates XP and bla bla bla (insert Mac snobbery here)
