Not only is it mellowish, it's a bit.... countryish?  
My fave new band is 30 Seconds to Mars. Yup, I like pretty boys dressed as idiots singing depressing songs.

I couldn't open your links, I'm currently listening on pandora.com to a song called Clumsy Card House but... is it them? I like it but it's a bit mellowish.

I love rock, 'cept that everyone sounds like Nickelback/Creed nowadays and I hate that. Even Christ Doughtry sounds like them. It bugs me.
